DON'T OVERTHINK IT

IF YOU COULD see it now, (which I'm glad you can't) my studio has just enough room on the floor for me to tiptoe through without stepping on anything.

Here's a section of a piece I'm in the middle of:

But honestly, I'd be forcing myself to be work on anything else today. When you don't feel creative you can't make yourself make 'stuff'.

So I'm going to make some more tea, clean a path through my studio and find something else to do today.

What's everyone else working on? Show me your work! Send some inspiring links this way!

I think it is VERY pretty! I love the "raindrops" and the color combinations.

I will be sewing today. I make the tote bags and storage buckets for my daughter's Etsy shop. You're maybe familiar with Jessica Jones of How about orange. In fact, I think it might have been a comment you left on her blog that led me to yours.

I hope you have a good day and are feeling creative again soon. You have so much potential, and I can't wait to see what develops from it!

I'm reorganizing my closet. I feel the need for some Spring Cleaning I think! I was inspired by one of Oprah's organization shows last week!

Actually, cleaning the studio when I'm uninspired is a great way to get re-inspired - I rediscover fabrics I'd forgotten about, and when everything is in it's place, it gives me a feeling of...anticipation, anything is possible sort of stuff.

I just wrote a guest blog tracing the development of a new piece, take a look if you'd like:

I hope this isn't a repeat - I thought I just pressed publish on a comment but I think it vanished...

ANyway, what I said was that cleaning my studio is a great way for me to get new inspiration - I rediscover fabrics I'd forgotten, and when everything is neat and tidy, I get a feeling of anticipation and endless possibility!

I've written a guest post today about the inspiration & development of my newest art quilt here:

There was a bit of tiptoeing going on around here on the weekend too! I cleaned it all up this morning. it always surprises me how refreshing it is to step into a clean, neat studio - you'd think I'd keep it that way more often.

I finished a couple of new drawings last week but am yet to post them so I don't have a link. Might start a new little 8x10" piece later this afternoon. Right now: exciting stuff: WORK. Well, sort of - that's what I should be doing right now anyway!! Back to it I guess...
